In the upcoming book Land Justice: Re-imagining Land, Food, and the Commons in the United States, Antonio Roman-Alcalá provides an analysis on the legitimacy of direct action to protect public resources. Specifically, Antonio analyses Occupy the Farm, whereby community members in the East Bay area in California occupied a publicly-owned research farm after it was slated for private development.
