News and Views_FALL 2018 1004 Food First was founded as a nonprofit in 1975 to end the injustices that cause hunger by promoting informed citizen engagement. Today, reader and member support makes up about two-thirds of our budget. We take no corporate or government money. This allows us to remain independent and consistently produce books and reports based on trenchant, hard-hitting analyses. We amplify the voices of the people and the social movements on the front lines of food systems transformation. If you value our free publications, please join us with a tax-deductible donation so we can keep bringing you the cutting edge work we need to end hunger.
